This is Bewi's first selenium meter: "Electro-Bewi". The first version was introduced in 1934. This is the second version that was made one year later. The first version had a slightly different case. At Bewi they were not quite satisfied with the sensitivity of the selenium cell, so they decided to add an extinction meter too, that can be used in low light situations. The meter has a distinctive clam shell design. While metering, it is kept on waste level, and read from above. The meter has a rugged metal case.

Mine comes from Darmstadt, Germany, in good condition. Except that the rotating rubber belt with shutter speeds is broken - just like in most of the Electro-Bewis.
